England x Reader: Found Pt. 4

You shifted in your seat next to England. The rest of the week after deciding to stay with the Englishman went by quickly as the final meetings drew to a close. France had actually backed off after you embarrassed him in front of all the other countries, and you hadn't seen him at all for the rest of the week, except for glimpses.

You heard the roar of engines suddenly, and you flinched. England glanced up from his book to look at you.

"Are you alright, ____________?" He asked.

You smiled, "Yeah, I just haven't ridden in a plane before. In my country, we just use boats and cars, although we could just walk everywhere. Our land isn't too big, but I like it that way."

His eyes sparkled with curiosity, "What is it like to live in your country?"
You leaned into your seat at the plane slowly moved forward, and began picking up speed. You looked sideways to reply, "Well, it's hard to explain what it's like to live somewhere you're used to. Hm… I know, I'll tell you about the climate first. Our seasons involve cold winters and snow, since there's a dormant volcano on our island, some of us like to go skiing, sledding, or snowshoeing. Our spring is really warm, I think, and our summers are hot. Autumn is nice, but it doesn't do much for me because our trees are only colorful for a short time." England smiled slightly, and nodded for you to continue.

"Um…what should I say next? Oh! We have these really pretty New Year's festivals!" Your eyes sparkled, you loved your country's festivals more than anything else, "Everyone wears bright clothing that's really light, so it floats around you like it's a stream of clouds; everyone comes to the capital near the coastline, and there's music. Everyone dances together, and we sing about our hopes for the coming year. This starts early in the morning at sunrise because we want to spend the final day of the old year welcoming the new." You grinned, remembering the many mornings of which you spent waiting for the orange sun to rise above the crystal ocean, "We sing until our voices are hoarse; I'm a terrible singer, and even I sing until the sun sets."

England laughed at this, "You can't be that bad."

You raised your brows and smirked, "You don't want me to prove you wrong, trust me. It will be that last thing you hear."

"I'm sure you're a fine singer." He assured you.

You chuckled, "You asked for it" You sucked in a deep breath, and began singing loudly, "Hakuna Matata, What a wonderful phrase! HAKUNA MATATA! AINT NO PASSING CRAZE! IT MEANS NO WORRIES, FOR THE REST OF YOUR DA—

A hand covered you mouth, "Alright, I get it. Now, Stop that. People are staring." You blinked at him, and pushed his hand off of your face.

"It's just the other countries, I mean, this is a private U.N. plane right? I'm a country, they have to know I'm nuts eventually." You told him.

"I'm just surprised you were bold enough to do that. You're usually so quiet." A large caterpillar travelled upwards, "I think that this has been the longest conversation that I have had with you ever."

You looked at your lap, suddenly conscious of your shyness.

"Please, don't do that, I don't mind you being shy." England said, "But you don't have to be afraid to talk to me."

You looked back up at him and smiled.

He sighed, "You know, your festivals sound like a giant gathering of magical folk." When you screwed up your face in confusion, he laughed, "All of that flowing material and singing would make your people look fairy-like. It sounds like a pretty dream to me."  He leaned back into his seat and looked out of the window beside him before looking back at you. "________, you said that you have never been on an airplane until now?" You nodded and he grinned, "Look outside."

You shifted nervously and leaned around him to look out through the small window, which had frost forming around the edges. You strained your neck to get closer to the window, and looked out.

It was beautiful, all you could see were shimmering waves and thin, white clouds.  You tried to get closer so you could see more, but your seatbelt held you back. England was laughing at you.

"If you want to get closer, I can just switch places with you, _______." He said.

You nodded excitably, and started to unbuckle yourself. You stood and tried to get past England, but ended up tumbling clumsily into his previously occupied seat. Forgetting to buckle yourself in, you immediately pressed your face against the glass, causing it to fog up. You continued to gaze out at the ocean until you passed out, asleep.

"________. ________, wake up." A familiar English accent drew you out of your sleep.

"Mrg?" you grumbled, as you blinked sleepily, eyes focusing on the green-eyed man looking at you.

"We've arrived." England told you, "There are other countries who want to return home too, so we must hurry."

You nodded, and grabbed your small bag of things that Hungary gave you before leaving. Then you and England found your luggage and left for his house in a taxi that was waiting for you.

Looking out your window at the scenery, you smiled, "I like your home, England, "You said, "I think it's pretty."

England turned to look at you, "I'm glad you like it, since you're staying here." He looked out his window, "I'm rather fond of it as well."
